What is your preference for using the Internet - desktop, laptop, ipad or phone?

I will say computer because this is what I use in generally.. sometime I use my phone when I'm not home or I'm too lazy to leave the bed and open the computer.
At wotk I use desktop computer and then use my wife's galaxy mini at home (So outdated Lol )
i prefer desktop browsing when not on bed. It gives me more screen space to explore
My preferences would go

1. Desktop or Laptop (kinda tied)
2. Phone
3. Tablet
Desktop #1. Even tho I like to 'mobility' when using Laptop I don't like to play games on it so, overall I prefer to use Desktop but when I'm just watching movies/tv shows Laptop can be better since I can watch it anywhere
I think you should use LAPTOP for watch movies and surf on web.

For play games; You should use DESKTOP.

For (only) surf on web and read news; You should use PHONE.
the laptop , because they one little consumsion of electricity
I like to use the internet on my laptop and iphone most just because it is so portable and I can have it with me but I also use it on my desktop a lot too for work and things like that so it is very mixed for be but what I like the most is my phone
I prefer and mostly use desktop, it's just much easier to navigate stuff, but I do use my phone when I'm in bed, for example.

Hello everyone,

I use actually all of them. PC, tablet, laptop. At home, I am working with the desktop and with the laptops. It depends WHERE I am working. ;-) Sitting on my desk, certainly, it is the desktop with the bigger monitor. Working outside enjoying the nice breeze and the weather, it is my laptop. Doing some reading and research, I use a tablet as well.
However, everything is virtualized which gives me the flexibility to shift things around. That means, I use VMs in the cloud. So, more features and more power even when I am traveling. All the files and tools are right there and I know, I have fast internet even when the place (coffee shop, hotel, airport) has low internet speed. Another benefit is the situation with passwords. Public places are not really safe.

How about you?

Best,
CK
Old school as well.

Prefer Desktop (Ubuntu Linux) via wired connection for anything requiring login/password (or WinXP for Filezilla uploads, again via wired connection).

If just surfing (no login), will use Android tablet (find virtual keyboard slow).  Do not own Smart Phone.

I should take a leaf from your desktop and go for Linux as well. May do that with the next generation of new hardware if and when in a couple of years. Yesterday I learned about Lubuntu at another Forum for a desktop application that sounds worth pursuing. I may opt for that.

Phone wise I have a very real worry about using my phone from a security point of view. Just doesn't feel as secure so I'm still on 2G phones hear in South Africa. Will have to change next year when I get to Canada. If all works out well.

Hello. I had many problems with my desktop computer with bluefish and many reinstallation ..
6year still used a laptop:) favorite: toshiba, MSI, and Asus
I usually find my laptop being the most used. I find it the easiest as I can move it around if I have to an so on, while still giving me the larger screen.
Laptop. Drinks
In my opinion, it is still today the best device to 'work and play' at the fullest. It has the portability that the desktop doesn't have and the screen size and resolution that no tablet or phone can reach. So the perfect combination for using internet or other software for light or hard use every day.

Desktop, by and far, is my preferred means of accessing the internet. It is so because it provides a much larger viewing area and I do things that require very high resolutions. Plus having a separate mouse makes it easier to navigate versus having no mouse or a track pad or touch screen. Track pads are slow and touch screens are very imprecise or require a ton of steps. Zoom in, click, zoom out, scroll Zoom in, click, zoom out, scroll Zoom in, click, zoom out, scroll Zoom in, click, zoom out, scroll. It's a pain in the ass.
Phone. but this is now, it hasn't always been like this. I had been a bigger fan of pc screen before.

A few changes allow me to do online stuff comfortably and effectively on the phone, such as, bigger phone screen but still easy to carry around, faster phone, browser reading mode, major improvements on multitasking (windows has been very good at this from day one, so good people don't even think about multitasking until they try to do the same things on a phone lol), greater internet access for mobile device, just to name a few.

Needless to say, a smart phone is still not a pc, but I can do a lot more on the phone these days without the need to have a pc laptop/tablet around me all the time.
I don't have an iphone but it depends on where I'm at, usually when I'm at home i use my desktop, laptop and phone. When I travel or in bed i usually use my laptop and/or phone. But I use a desktop when I'm in school because the unit  there is much better than my laptop plus it's convenient carrying just a pen and textbook to school.
my preference would be like this, phone then PC, a lot of reason would explain my Arrangement as you guys know smart phones become more popular, the main reason that you can do the majority things can have done with a pc, so PC becomes for a huge amount of people a useless things.

Linux update.  16.04 has problems supporting CD-ROM.  Have played some w/ fstab, no success.
(Sorry haven't signed in for a spell.  Been busy repairing rocker panels on p/u, adjusting to retirement, playing/learning Linux, etc.  NOT due to any dissatisfaction w/ GigaRocket.)

It's always great to hear from you @rrroberts. Nice to see you posting when you can. Hope you can sort out the php problem with Pastel. Let us know whether you have been able to do so by tweaking the phpversion - possibly changing it to an earlier one.

It really depends on the situation. At my office work, I would definitely prefer to use my desktop PC. However I do enjoy using my laptop or Ipad in a cofee shop. And finally while laying on bed, I usually use my Iphone!
