Visitors from Mobile compared to Desktop?

#1
I have a website in a non-English language that receives slightly more clicks from Mobile compared to Desktop according to Google Search Console. A large portion of this website has been translated into English on a different domain but there I get almost all clicks from Desktop. I wonder if this is the norm for a global website or if it might have something to do with the fact that it hasn't switched to "mobile-first indexing" yet?

Operating system market shares differ from country to country. In African countries Android phones are the most common. Other countries it's Windows on a PC. Mobile traffic makes up a large percentage of web traffic so depending on your venture it might be a good idea to make your site mobile friendly. If you have a site with a lot of text, ie the reference section of the internet, you might just focus on Desktop applications. My web development days were back when FrontPage was still cool and responsive designs for mobile users was not a thing yet.

It might be a good idea to do some research on demographics and market share for your whatever niche your website belongs in before jumping head first into development.

Most of my visitors come from English speaking countries with the US on top.

I think it's relatively mobile friendly already. My non-English site, which is pretty much the same but older and with more pages, has almost all pages listed as mobile-friendly. The English site has many pages listed as mobile-friendly but far from all. I suspect it's just a matter of time.

Now I come to think of something. Only a few pages rank well so far and those pages are probably subjects that are more likely to be searched for on Desktop. This seems to be the case when comparing with the equivalent pages on my non-English site.
