I have google it but there are many ideas...and I have a project stuck because of this....
if you share a music in your website from youtube or others... is it illegal or not?
or, if others share a video in my website, to listen.. is it illegal or not?
or links to a correct answer....
I don't think so. If you were to download the video and put it on your site without permission that might be a different story, but just linking or embedding a youtube video helps out the video uploader by giving their video more views.
To simply answer your question, the answer is that sharing videos on your website is legal.
When you simply share the videos using the existing ways provided by any website then you're not violating any kind of law and by doing so you're giving credit as needed so copyright is preserved.
The only way that's ILLEGAL is downloading these videos (at all, for youtube and many other sites) and/or posting these videos as if they were served by you.
Use what the website provides you, do not go with any other means, even if available...
Links and shared files are not illegal. But, the act of uploading illegal files is illegal. The laws of the country may make different judgments.
you know that file is illegal, and you download it. you becomes illegal.
Even if it is not illegal by copyright, it may be illegal by another law (business disturbance, patent infringement).
All the video's on you tube have a degree of fair usage, the ones that are fully copyrighted are blocked world wide so don't worry about it after all they provide the embed code
find your mind monkey, take control.
If the content is yours and you have a way to prove it I think is legal or if the content is copyright free is legal but if it's a copyrighted content it's ilegal.
If you wasn't allowed then they wouldn't provide embed codes or share buttons. Its not like you're trying to strip video out of the YouTube player and replace their advertising. Its always clear where the video is coming from. I would however, use offical YouTube channels to get the video's you want to use.
For example, I posted a music video on the forum here and used the bands official YouTube channel, that way it isn't going to suddenly be deleated by YouTube for violation where someone who doesn't care just uploaded something they ripped.
I imagine YouTube terms and conditions will be explicit.
Hope this helps
I don't think it is illegal. I suggest you read your hosting provider's terms for better understanding.
I think you can safely embed the video if it is the copyright holder that has uploaded it. If they don't want to allow the video being embedded they can easily disallow it.
If someone has uploaded a video without permission from the copyright holder I think it might be illegal to embed it on your website. Some claim that just linking to illegal content is not illegal but I don't think that is true. Torrent sites used to claim the same thing but unfortunately it didn't work out so well for many of them.
I think it is legal to share video by embedding youtube player on your website. Either way if you upload the video on your website and stream through it, I think that is illegal.
Not, if you can see the share button means it was allowed by the owner to share them I think. the problem is the owner might get copyright claim from others with its content lol
It's only illegal if you are making money off of their content. Make sure you ask first if you are gonna be making money off of them before you use their video.
This has happened to my channel recently. Four other channels (probably the same person) has copied and reposted in one case 49 of my videos. They have not monetized the copied videos however, my concern is by signing my name, email and home address on the copyright claim This person(s) will now have even more of my personal information. I wonder if it is a way to bait me in
