A Little Critique, Please

I don't know if it's allowed by Gigaranks and if not then moderators by all means remove the post. But I feel by input I can get a better idea about my site, or blog, from those who have been doing this internet and marketing a long time.

I'm not trying to spam or promote here, but need a little critique. I am getting a little traffic, but what in your opinion could I do better to maybe make someone want to try this product? Is it maybe the price they want for the download too much?

Click on the link at the end of my blog. I am a graduate of this course myself, and it works. It really is interesting stuff.

You can go right ahead Jasmine. This Forum is designated for feedback to Websites. Which Website is it that you want us to critique?

Looks good! I see the Naturespace theme. One thing I might suggest is an image, either in the header , or as a featured image on the blog post, so the whole site isn't just text. https://pixabay.com/ has some nice free ones you might want to check out.

No, I don't see any themes whats so ever. I am using both firefox and Chrome. Both give me a light green site So, I can't judge based on that if the theme is not showing up. According to view source, it is using that theme you mentioned. I can't tell what the issue is at this time.

Jasmine:

I like your design, simple, just enough whitespace. And yes, your design looks like to me is a subset of Naturespace theme (just not using any graphics) - though I must confess my ignorance - I only have a nodding acquaintance with WordPress and had to look it up.

For me, the lack of an image does not detract from the site (sorry Yozora), but that could be just me. I prefer images that explain the topic in some way.

As for low traffic, please, please forgive me - it is the topic, it is not mainstream. This "product" will be a hard sell. I do not think (could be wrong) the price is an issue.

I am guessing you are U.S.A. based (Silva obviously is). About half of the U.S. is too Christian to accept evolution, and many of these feel the same way about ESP. Myself, I am too much of a rationalist to believe in any religion, and am very skeptical about higher intelligences, ESP, and related topics. I remember too much of the hippie stuff from the 60s. Again my apologies.

Good luck with your site.

Yes you are right, it needs something to break the text only thing. Don't know why I don't see the theme, and Strokerace says they don't either. I may try Fourteen Thirteen again with an image, because I do see it. Thanks.

Oh don't apologize, I understand your views. I've been thinking myself lately a lot of people would not understand the concept and it will be better to move on to another niche. I went through the Silva course back in the 60s, and this has nothing to do with hippies. Millions practice it every day. It has to do with channeling positive energy in and negative energy out. Just like Cesar Millan on the Dog Whisperer, he uses positive energy on the dogs, and he even mentions positive and negative energy a lot on his show.

The color is good and it is clean too, but i think it lack of images. Add more post about your product or something related with your product.

Thanks, I think I need more images as well. I did have another post on there which was a little longer, but I didn't want to get too wordy so I cut it back some. However, I've decided to move on to another topic. According to Clickbank the gravity of Silva is only 27, which is pretty low. I'm going to stay in the health niche, as that's what my URL reflects. It will be either in weight loss or healthy cooking, of which the gravity on those areas are substantially higher.

Ok, I've changed my niche to food/cooking, see how this looks please. I've gone back to the Twenty Thirteen theme and think I'll stay there for now. It's still at bodymindwellness.info, and the gravity on this niche is much higher than the other.

Your homepage is landing page right? So I think you must add some testimonial with videos or commenting from your customer who satisfied with your products. Whatever its coming from your friends, family, social media or somebody else. Fake testimonial could be right if we talk about "selling product" as long as you offering true products, Right?
The design of the theme is too simple for landing page. Always make attractive your design will bringing visitor interesting to try buying your product. Good luck !

Why videos? Why comments from customers on the main page? When ever I see those on a website, I leave them right away. They look fake and also shows a pushy seller. I think it should be about the product with links to comments.

Would even be better to see the info about the products on the main page then when they click the product, that is where the comments should be after a more detailed product information sheet.

If you look at it from an SEO stand point, the search engine will pick up the product first before anyones comment on the product.

Well you're right in that the page is somewhat simple, so I think if I make the background electric orange, the trim hot pink, and the print in blinding lime green . . . .well that should get customers hopping to buy the product. What do you think?

:heartylaugh: I'd love to see what that looks like.

Anyway, I started to click away and found this "funny" premium theme:

The colours of entheosweb site are also quite fetching.

I've decided to go back to the Twenty Thirteen theme and stick with it for now at least. Yes, it's very simple, and no it's not a landing page. I'd rather have something simple with a straightforward message than something with a lot of clutter that probably causes people to hit the backbutton and be on their way.

I'm not worried about it not being a landing page with that form to fill in their name and email. I quit filling those in long ago myself because everytime I did, I'd get lots and lots of unwanted emails and spam. In fact I changed my email address more than once to get away from all that.

When I buy something online I don't want a bunch of clutter filling my inbox from someone trying to market more things to me I don't want. If I want to purchase something else online later, I want to be the one to choose what and when I buy.

Twenty Thirteen is an excellent theme Jasmine. Very dynamic. Does lots of things. Particularly with having more than one menu. You can't do wrong for the meanwhile.

For me the bold font feels like it is shouting. Maybe you can find a more formal less stressful font to use.

If it is just a simple 1 page you can remove the search button. The colors also on the header orange, brown, yellow are hard to associate with health and wellness. Mostly Green and Red are associated to it.

I associate red and green with Christmas. Don't know why you don't associate the colors of the header with health and wellness. To me they are blended into a pleasing design and that's what I'm keeping for now. Yellow is the color of the sun, which is vital to the health and life of the earth. Brown is an earth-color of the soil, which supports health and growth of life forms. Orange could be one color associated with the moon, which has a magnetic pull on the earth, keeping us in place to revolve around the sun, and also keeping the oceans in motion and supporting life. So all three of those colors do represent health and life.
