Hello everyone! I'm a computer and science teacher at a PK-8 school. I design websites as a freelancer and I play dek hockey. My user name, rockforlife, refers to the website that I'm hoping to move here soon. www.rockforlifeconcert.com

It is the mission of Rock for Life to provide financial support to needy individuals residing in Western PA who are suffering from life threatening diseases. Rock for Life sponsors music festivals and other music-related and general fundraising events to raise the monies necessary to support its purpose.

Recipient(s) of support will be determined annually, utilizing selection criteria guidelines as adopted by the Directors. Financial support may be provided to a needy individual or a non-profit organization that supports the mission of Rock for Life.

I think it is a great idea to check out our hosting. I don't say our hosting is better than Bluehost, as Bluehost is very large and commercial, with plenty of really good feedback. But I've learned through the last few weeks with working with three different free hosts, that in addition to being good hosts, the success of my Website depended on the configuration of their servers.

For example: I've been playing with a phpBB Forum over the last 10 days and noticed bluehost.com comes highly recommended. Some people rave about Bluehost. PhpBB advertises it as its top host - so I guess phpBB must work well with Bluehost and Bluehost server configuration supports phpBB in a big way. I don't have an interest to try Bluehost out as I'm fairly well fixed up with three different hosts that I am attached to for sentimental reasons. With the first free host I tried the initial installation worked great, however about an hour into doing the configuring in the phpBB Admin Panel it started to hang in between saving modifications. So I scrapped it and started from scratch with Free Host No. 2. Free Host No 2 is the Rolls Royce of my free hosts. And I think it still is. I probably should have been patient as I have a feeling that the problem with phpBB turning into very buggy had to do with using an autoinstaller. I don't think it is a great idea to use an autoinstaller with phpBB, and it isn't really necessary as it is very easy to download the latest software and upload it with FileManager. So finally when I got to my more limited Volkswagen equivalent free host No. 3 with no autoinstaller in cPanel, I did just that, downloaded the latest phpBB version from phpBB.com, uploaded it with the cPanel File Manager, and I've been sailing ever since. I've given phpBB Admin Panel and cPanel at my Volkswagen limited Free Host an enormous workout, and "touch wood" am still going strong.

So looks as though I have proven to myself that if a Website works out well at a host it doesn't mean that host is necessarily that much better. Could be that the way it has been set up works for the Website I'm working with.

So lets hope Gigarank settings will work well for you. Our owner has just purchased a brand-new server and we have a wizard of a Technical Admin here who is known to work magic with servers. Good that you are giving it loads of time before you make your changes.
