About My other Hosting account problems ...

A lot of you, especially Admin staff, are very experienced in running and maintaining Hosting services. So, I would like you to give me an advice, because I don't know what to do anymore. I already posted about a particular problem with my other Hosting account (not Gigarank...:clapping:), in other post, hope you won't consider this as duplicate posting, because this problems are much wider and more complex.

I got paid Hosting Plan at a certain Hosting provider ( I don't want to promote them, that is why I don't mention their Name), in my own Country.

Every four-five days in a last month and a half, I got either "cPanel don't have valid license" message, it last for a day or two, then they fix it, then after a few days it happens again ...
Either, there is "internal 500 error message", that they admit it is because of them, then they fix it some how...after a few days, here we go again, just like this morning.

I know about them for years, I had mine and my Client's account there before, they were very good. Even now they respond quickly to my support messages ....but what's use of it, if I got these interruptions and problems constantly.

Should I drop it for good or what ...do you think, if such things happen frequently, that they have bigger issues or what?!

May be a temporary issue they are going through with their WHM. Something went wrong and they can't get it to fix itself.

There are so many hosts these days, if it worries you I'd move somewhere else. Or better yet, get yourself a paid VPS with your own WHM and cPanel so you are more in control of your Websites. If you're planning to create a large number of Websites that may be the way to go.

Thanks @Genesis for your quick reply. I 'm planing to move from them, just wanted to use my paid period...ha.
VPS is something I'm not familiar enough yet, and Manged VPS or Dedicated Hostings are still too expansive at my Website's stage at this moment ...
Will Gigarank provide managed VPS or something like that?

how much total bandwidth consume by you and your client? if less than 1tb, i think vps is cheaper than shared hosting

It's quite less then 1tb ...no more then 250-300Gb per Month. But did you understand that I'm not too good in manage it on my own, so I'd have to order managed VPS. I check id out and there are offers about 25-30 dollars per Month, it's about 300-350 per Year.
Here is specification of one of those offers:

16+ CPUs
Equal Share
Guaranteed RAM
768 MB
RAID-10 Disk Space
25 GB
Premium Bandwidth
3000 GB
$25
PER MONTH

Is it good or what?

Is that a manage vps or un-managed ? If it's managed then the next question is that price has cPanel license free included ? If not then you will need to add another $5 - $10 per month for that. More than 95% vps services provider managed vps only if you run cPanel.

There are few mangaed vps providers who provide vps for that price and you can get a managed vps along with cpanel/WHM for less than $30 per month. If you want I ll find out more.

But my suggestion is since u plan to stay on this problematic provider till it expire, use that time to learn about free control panel and how to run a un-managed vps. it would be lot cheaper if you can learn basics.

Thanks for your reply. I'm aware that it is much cheaper if I can manage VPS on my own, but I need secure Hosting environment for me and of of course for my clients. I don't think I can manage to learn enough so I can be sure that I will do it properly, at least not in a few months, when I will have to change Hosting provider...

Guess I'll have to pay as much as it needed.

I think this is wise Misharnet. It is probably better to experiment with a few VPSs first over a long period of time until you are confident if you want to manage it yourself, or if that is not your thing, focus on getting more clients to pay for good quality managed VPS. I'm almost certain that eventually managed VPS will become much cheaper than it is now. There is so much of it out there it is bound to become very competitive in price to the advantage of those who want it.

If you have clients yeah you have to do that. I have do have an cPanel managed server which cost me $50 per month for clients. It's for my own sites I use un-managed vps with free hosting control panels.

I just ran into this problem. It was my .htaccess file. I deleted it and the error went away. See if you have one on your account. Its worth a shot

Am curious. What are the specifications of the VPS for $50? I.e. what memory, hard disk space and bandwidth transfer and how many IPs are you getting for the package?

That's an awesome rate for those specs. Guess you must have done very thorough research to get that.

Actually It's bit pricy because I had another managed account with same specs for $22 (with a discount). That's there I got brute forced for over a year. Their support was also good but there were issues like kind of slow loading problem and also I was always getting problems with Wordpress. But they did their best to sort out every problem I reported.

For the Account I mentioned in previous post, I only pay $35 per month. They gave me a 25% lifetime reoccurring discount few years back. Forgot all about it. :)

It has 2 forums, one highly active and then like 40-50 other sites. But the cool thing is only 253.6 MB is in use from 2GB RAM. I always thought cPanel would take more.

@"strokerace"

Now if you can get a fully managed dedicated server with 16GM RAM and 1 TB space, that would be cool. Could you provide a link to provider a link to this package ?

I couldn't change my client server but I would definitely interested in to get one for my one of other projects. I dont mind even if it doesn't have cPanel/WHM as long as it has specs u mentioned and fully managed.
