What software do you guys use for andriod devices, I currently use Vipre because I use it on my pc and it works great :)

I tried using various other software/s but none worked how I wanted them to or they requested too much permissions.
I trust vipre. :)

A year ago I bought my first smartphone. Since then I use Avast Mobile Security & Antivirus as security-app.
You can get a free version with the most important things included like antivirus and antitheft, or an premium version,
which you have to paid for.
With this version you get features like geo-fencing, ad-detection an much more. At this time the free version is sufficient for me.

I use Avast! Mobile Security & Antivirus for my android as well. I also use the Internet Security version (paid) for my laptop. Overall, I would say that it's a good program. I've never had any problems with it :)

On another note, I used to use AVG on my laptop, but it began giving me some problems which led to its uninstallation. This was a while ago (as in several years with a totally different pc) so I don't even remember the specific issues I had.

Do you use the paid version on your andoid too, like on your laptop, or are you satisfied with the
given features of the free version ?

Do you ever need to use the build-in anti-theft feature ?

I don't think android devices need an anti-virus, especially if they're not rooted. Best security is the user care and trust.
Still, some good anti-virus programs are AVG and Eset Mobile Security.

I personally like BitDefender antivirus, which in some way correlates to Iobit Mobile Care that utilizes both AV and BitDefender Engines inside! In addition, Mobile care offers tons of daily used utilities, it's basically an all-in-one package, free and paid available. Premium is an optional upgrade! Check it out!

It doesn't matter whether the phone is rooted or not. The linux kernel used in android is very secure and doesn't need third party software to interfere. But if you must, then grab a Z-Anti for preventing Man in the Middle attacks. I've tried an MITM attack on myself and the software detected it and prevented it too!

I agree. I think problem is not virus but many malicious applications for android, isn't it?

The best antivirus and protection are probably the Norton Antivirus,Avast and AVG, these 3 are the most reliable and efficient antivirus software for the mobiles.

I use ESET Mobile Security,

It is free and very powerfull, we should all have an antivirus in our smartphones.

Sorry to tell you all that have installed an Anti-virus on your phones, they don't work. 1, there has not been a virus written since 2000. What people are calling a virus, are not a virus, but scam ware, or trojan like software.2, There is not a AV that will discover RATS and trojans that are written for mobile devices. I have a trojan attached to an AV and not one of these programs can detect it. And I do mean all of them. The trojan is not even written well and its even 3 years old and nothing can detect it. It not encrypted like most rats and trojans are to bypass AV detections.
