Any one likes pets?

I don't have a pet, as the UAE is not particularly pet friendly country. When one has a pet, it's best to keep them indoors all of the time. Any way, just came across this photo, think I may consider a bull dog when I have an opportunity for a pet again. Any one else likes pets, or has a pet?

Soo cute. I've had dogs, cats, fish and birds before - all strays or abandoned animals. I won't buy one as I think it's wrong and I don't want to support those puppy mills.

Me too. All of the dogs I've had have been either rejected or spca. Turned into fabulous pets.

I had a dog. When we mated him we agree to not just give away the puppets but to sell them for 100 - 150 euros.

At the start I didn't like the idea but after a little conversation with friends from animal settlers we was convinced that it was the right think to do!

Curious as to why was it the right thing to do? Was it because people willing to spend money are likely more serious?

first birth 9 puppies. We had 14 people asking for one puppy. After we said to them we want 150 euros for all the vaccinations and food etc. only 5 remains. Two of them is friends and we gave them the puppies free. The other 3 paid. All the other puppies sold to friends of other friends etc. All the puppies are with people who love animals.

second birth 11 puppies. Same picture but we gave 2 for free at the beginning. both of them came back for new owners!

So yes I prefer to sell the puppies for 100 - 150 euro. just vaccinations - food etc. I'm against to the breed for profit. :pardon:

I'm on vacation in Vancouver, BC right now, and wow, this is a wonderful place for pet lovers. I've got to having my coffee at a coffee chain called Blenz, and yesterday noticed a huge silver deep bowl with water in it, no doubt for pets. They get to sit outside however. All the coffee shops have an outside area, for dogs, their owners and smokers. :p

I was sitting outside for fresh air and sunshine. I'm spending as much time in the outdoors as I can after having been cooped up the last few months in air conditioned environment as it's too hot to move outside in the heat.

Maybe it's just me, but is it a little disgusting that all the animals would drink from the same water bowl?
:heartylaugh: A good one. I'll certainly mention it to The Blenz next time I have a coffee there. Long time since I've laughed as much. Seriously though, maybe you've got a point there, and there may be animal lovers who would agree with you too.

Well I love the idea of offering them water or treats, but if there was a communal glass of water - (No offense everyone) but I don't think I'd want to share it.

Right. I wonder how they could design it so it's not communal. Maybe have a tap on site with a stack of doggy bowls? Although some of the dogs I've seen are HUGE! This is a built up concrete jungle with high rises, so wonder how owners can keep them in apartments. I almost took a photo this morning of an owner with a dog like that, but then thought he may not like it.

They could do a water fountain or something, but I think animals never grasped the concept of drinking from moving water (heck even some humans haven't).

Right. :p I'm sure someone will come up with a great idea one day, something that would help their coffee business along at the same time, as a marketing tool.

There's a lot of money in the pet business - allowing pets + coffee just sounds like a good idea (they could do pet friendly meet ups or something).

Haha .... I was thinking of this thread when I was watching the news earlier. It was a news item about potential "drought" because of how dry it was, so they showed a shot of a very large dog, think it was a boxer, and its owner activating the water fountain for it, and it drinking from the water fountain. I've never drunk from water fountains before, but that did put me off just a little bit.
