Some people who watched The Revnant told me that they did not like the movie. I watched the trailer and I absolutely loved it. What do you guys think of the movie? No spoilers please.
Thanks

There are few interesting moments in it............... but I ended up bored at some point. Hollywood survival stories are so predictable. What was of interest is the context of the movie: the genocide of the native Americans and the fact that this movie didn't forget to hint at the implication of the French in that morbid story which is good.

Anyway, the movie is a serious contender for this year 'Best Picture award' in the Oscars... but that doesn't make it not boring either (at least for the normal people outside the Hollywood bubble.)

The movie is good but you get bored after 1h because there is a lack of action. It has some errors, some made on purpose to the advancement of the story, some they didn`t took into account
Personally, Di Caprio interpreted in some better movies and won no Oscar. Despite what he endured, this, in my opinion is not an Oscar movie, he can do better.

It was an alright movie but considering the actors involved it could of been done alot better imo.
Leonardo DiCaprio is one of my favourite actors and in my opinion one of the best method actors of all time but for me he didn't stand out. Worth a watch but personally it didn't wow me

Great Movie, Leonardo is playing very good... like usual
DiCaprio was OK in this film (I'm not a fan though.) His performances (IMHO) are far better now that he acts like a grown-up.

I guess that the problem for Hollywood actors is that they have to compete hard for the right scripts and the right roles/characters. Not easy to say the least...

Well, Leonardo got his Oscar finally for The Revenant! Although it was based on a true story, I thought it was a great example of some writing advice: throw everything you can at your character...
Here, have a bear attack. What, you survived that? Well, have this. And this (I'm avoiding spoilers  ) Still standing, Mr Protagonist? How about THIS? See how you like that!
If the writer manages to get you rooting for the character, then they've hooked you and you'll share in all these joys and woes with them... good film-making!
