Can i use cloudflare?

How do you know that cloudflare will increase the speed? If you do research you'll find quite a large number of people having issues with cloudflare, including slower speed. Here is one example. Especially notice the comments at the bottom of the blog post.

(regardless of whether it slows down my site or not??)
