Cleanup of Inactive Hosting Accounts - Notice of Suspension of Accounts (terminated)

PMs were sent to the following accounts on 8 August warning about inactive hosting accounts. The following accounts will be suspended tomorrow, 30 August due to no response received or inability to be active. The accounts are scheduled for termination on 30 September.

How do you consider inactive?

Bandwidth is the first give away. Then when you check the Website and there is a skeleton WordPress site with no blog posts, like someone had fun trying out something and then left. You then write to the person and there is no answer. I wrote twice.

TOS says you have to have a published Website up within 48 hours. And maintain a minimum bandwidth. Minimum bandwidth is of course easy to assess. But we also look at the account itself. If someone has been active in the account, and made some good sized posts, we'll try a little harder to get in touch with them. Eventually though the rules are the rules. And the rules aren't there to be difficult. They are there for protection and keeping our space as hack free as possible. With Website space comes the responsibility to look after it, and we urge people to please check into the Forum from time to time in case there are important notices that may affect their Website space. If they feel they can't attend to their Website they can ask us to suspend the account for a period of time or close it, as they can always come back and reopen a new account, provided of course they are in good standing with Gigarank and the TOS.

Using your Hosting Account

If you get accepted for free web hosting then we expect you to use your account, we are not a domain parking service nor a file hosting service.

When you get accepted for free web hosting you should have your home page up within 48hrs after acceptance. Failure to do so may lead to your account being flagged as unused and risk being terminated.

If your account uses less than 5mb bandwidth per month it may also lead to your account being flagged as unused and risk being terminated.
