I finished watching this a while ago via Netflix, but I just wanted to write a review on it. Apparently it was cancelled, so no more new episodes but I guess I'll pull through.
Dark Matter is a sci-fi show set 600 years into the future. There, 6 crew members awaken on a spaceship, unaware who they are. This show was rich in its plot, characters, and trivial stuff. Each of the characters have their own emotional background, which they discover. As it turns out, they were all actually bounty hunters and wanted by the GA(Galactic Authority). Some people had no life they abandoned, some had riches and royalty awaiting them. The characters develop far from the ruthless criminals they were in their "previous life."
Another cool aspect of the show was seeing the producers' vision of the human race in 600 years. The setting is actually quite dystopian, with corporations literally running the galaxy, but adds a very interesting conflict to the plot. The technology has come far, particularly astronomy technologies and AI. Mostly all ships were equipped with an "FTL engine", which allowed them to travel faster than light. Their ship also had an android, which could easily pass as a human. This android was super intelligent, super strong, and super fast. However, "she" was intentionally programmed to have emotions- to feel
