@Jaran
Think the reason was that I hadn't used the Facebook Account in a while. I forgot my password, and then immediately after I fixed the password Facebook responded with saying it has "temporarily locked" my account. In order to get it unlocked I have to submit a picture ID! Sort of both hilarious and irritating at the same time. Why couldn't it simply ask my security question? What would they compare my picture with? And on my side, why on earth would I want to provide them with my picture ID? Am I going to give Facebook that kind of authority over me?

Facebook has its uses, but when it gets to asking me for my cell number and picture ID I draw the line. As the YouTube news report showed, Facebook has been caught so many times with lying about treating things confidentially, it's better to keep Facebook as much at arms length as one possibly can.

Really? They keep asking me for my mobile number, other than that I never got a request for a picture ID. That doesn't even make any sense. They don't know you, why would they verify anything from a photo?!... Isn't there any other way around it?

I used plenty of swear words Aya .... I still would like to know how they would use a photo ID to check my account when they don't have one on file to compare it with. Totally DUMB!

Here is a list of the photo IDs they accept:

Haha! Maybe I should create one. How about a Gym Card?

Facebook has access to the Government database? Getting more interesting by the moment. Thought it was just a conspiracy theory about its involvement with the US Federal Government, but now it's beginning to start true. :p

I wouldn't be surprised. Just imagine one day every one wakes up and instead of date of birth there's a phone number instead. Another FB privacy breach "oops" again. :p

well, I had the same problem once, but facebook ask me instead to recognize the people they showed me in a few pictures, I recognized my friends, but some I had no idea who they were.

I forgot about facebook for a few months, then I opened a new account.

Another reason why I avoid Facebook as much as possible. I would never transmit this kind of information online just so I could see what kind of beer someone I knew thirty years ago had with lunch today.
