There are about 8 posts between No. 1 and No. 2. Their number of posts are small enough for other contenders to still beat them. Provided they post quality posts of course.

Chris is busy with some serious New Year's celebrations so asked me to make an announcement on his behalf.

The winner of the December competition for a VPS is Jaran. Congratulations mate! Well done! Am certain you will give the VPS a solid workout!

Our appreciation to all those who participated in the competition. Good news is that your posts for December have not been wasted as they will be calculated in with the 100 posts that are needed for a FREE VPS. So please don't give up. Continue to post and if you need to know what the number of your posts are with effect of 1 December please PM me.

Starting in 2015: http://www.gigarocket.net/free-vps.php

We have the infrastructure in place and ready to go, we are just drawing up the terms of services, usage policy etc etc.
can we get both free shared and free vps?

I don't think so. The VPS offer is interesting, very interesting.

so, hosted member can not get free vps?

Of course they can. Suggest you read the Terms and Conditions of VPS hosting. You may have both your shared hosting and VPS hosting at the same time. In order to get a VPS you need to make 100 posts (counted from 1 December 2014). Then once you have the VPS you need to make 10 posts per month in order to maintain the VPS hosting.

Here is a link to the TOS for VPS hosting:

Oops! Looks as though I need to make some modifications to my announcement.
1. 30 (and not 10) posts will be needed per month for continued use of the VPS after the VPS has been received.
2. 100 posts will be needed in order to get the VPS.
3. The posts will be calculated on a calendar month basis. So if the VPS was received on 15 March then we'll start counting maintenance posts from April.
4. Jaran doesn't need to make any maintenance posts for the three months of use of his Winner VPS. The 30 post per month requirement will only apply to Jaran's VPS with effect of April 2015.

Good question Sander! We'll need to ask Chris about this.

I've seen at other comparable VPS hosts with similar specifications (with no support) at a charge of 10-15 USD plus or minus a month. I'm no expert in pricing though.

We currently do not offer any paid VPS packages, we are going to offer them for free until we gain enough technical experience and studied the market further.
