I've got a few, but this one is very interesting - Eicca Toppinen from Finland (Apocalyptica fame) . Here's an interview with him:

Reminds me a little of Yngwie Johan Malmsteen originally from Sweden, who in my opinion, lost plenty of his originality when he emigrated to the United States.

Here's some of his more known works - Arpeggios From Hell

And not so known - but pretty impressive. He's got a style of its own:

J. S. Bach

No musician, be they orchestralist, vocalist, Old Music-ist, New Music-ist, keyboardist or lutenist will disparage the name of J. S. Bach.

Probably Yuki Kajiura, composer of the songs for the groups FictionJunction and Kalafina. She does songs in both Japanese and her own invented languages, known by fans as Kajiurago. Also, Mike Oldfield of Tubular Bells (The Exorcist theme) fame is another one I really like.

Just been thinking of Gary Moore as well. The sounds he could get out of an electric guitar have been anything but amazing and legendary.

In terms of movie music, I'm a huge fan of Hans Zimmer, and with TV Murray Gold's Doctor Who soundtracks are really really amazing. The Cyberman theme he composed for the revival series is really menacing.

In terms of actual music, I'm a fan of most composers from the 30s to the 50s. Louis Prima - also a singer - wrote a few good songs, most notably 'Sing Sing Sing'. Irving Berlin is another good one.

I prefer Yiruma. I love the pieces he composes. I wish there was a vocal to them. I think I discovered him through a korean movie. However his first love album is so adorable.

I mostly listen to Chopin. I'm not very well informed on modern composers - except the film score composers. Hans Zimmer, John Williams and Alexandre Desplat are in my music collection.
