Expired Certificate or MITMA?

I'm getting bad certificate errors for hero.gigadnsserver.com that say it expired 10/9/2015 23:28:41 PM GMT.

Yes? No? I always ask before storing an exception.

Thanks!

I am having this since I have applied for and received my free hosting account.

You don't have to worry about certificate errors as there is nothing wrong with Gigarank and you are completely safe.

Why, I wonder?

The host isn't always the danger with this, or sometimes even aware of it.

I'm especially concerned as one of my most frequented sites is the object of a confirmed and ongoing MITM attack. I'm just asking the management for confirmation. If they say it's OK, I'm fine.

I understand you in this case, then yeah and if Un4saken and DJB are aware of this, then they will fix that issue definately asap.

Also I'm sorry to hear that buddy.

It should be working fine now, I've installed a fresh ssl certificate. You may need to clear your cache.

It's the browser you have to focus on. Delete all the cookies, history, etc.

Then for good measure also flush the dns at least twice:

https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/CKB/How+To+Clear+Your+DNS+Cache

Then log out and turn off your computer. Wait a few minutes, then turn it on again.

If it is still a problem, may need to wait a little.

You don't read your e-mails with the e-mail provider though do you? You use a browser to read the e-mails.

The link you provided is just how you set up your gmail account. It doesn't mention cache. What browser are you using to read your e-mails?
Googled it and found this link from Google Gmail to help you get rid of your cache. It also refers to clearing it with the browser you are using:

gmail.com checks the e-mail I'm not connecting to the server at all. I log into gmail only.

I use chrome exclusively. But I just logged into MS Edge and tried to switch from non-ssl to ssl (I had changed it to non-ssl settings in chrome before logging in via Edge)

What do you do when you log into your gmail? Surely you need a browser to get the login screen up first before you can log into your gmail account?

I just sent my wife an e-mail to her domiano.net e-mail. She checks it with an windows app on this same network. It worked for her.

and here's what it looks like when I try to set it up in thunderbird

It should be noted that I am using google's public dns servers: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/?hl=en

and my wife is not... so the issue seems to be at google
