Favourite Linux OS for VPS installs

I also prefer CentOS for the exact same reason. It's what I've been used to. But I am burning to try out Debian with Nginx. I learned for the first time that Apache is using much more resources than Nginx. So hence why 512 RAM on my VPS here is not really enough for using my WEBUZO control panel. Apache eats resources. Whereas Nginx has a proven record of using much less. Hence probably why Nginx is used with the new popular free VPS Vesta Panel. Nginx however is not for the uninitiated and requires a very big learning curve. I'm hoping to try it out though in the foreseaable future and be a little more adventurous with using Debian.
I used to love Debian, but now I find myself using CentOS more and more. Debian doesn't seem to be concerned about security as much as they do bickering about FOSS. See the recent issue with xscreensaver which had large warnings that using it would make the system insecure. The Debian decision? Edit the code to remove those warnings.

It runs very efficiently, with the package manager using substantially less memory and CPU then the CentOS counterpart yum.
I'll be honest - CentOS 6 is also an all time favorite for me, as I prefer the layout of RHEL much more than Debian.
Operating systems have their pros/cons - it all depends on what you want to accomplish.
Have a VPS with 32MB of RAM? Use Debian.
Want to run cPanel? Use CentOS.
I dislike Ubuntu because it's managed by Canonical, a commercial corporation which defeats the purpose of community oriented Linux distributions like Debian.

Personally i like unbuntu, has a nice feel. Clean and just seems like a decent one to me.

I have voted for Ubuntu because is the only that i have use but reading your posts I will reconsider. I would like to use a distro that use efficiently the resources. I think I will give it a try to CentOS.

I did choose Fedora 20 when applying here. My idea was that I would upgrade it afterwards to the latest version and kernel and start experimenting stuff. Unfortunately, that won't/didn't work given the virtualization solution used by Giga VPSes.
In reality, anything RH-package management (RPM) based would do the trick for me. CentOS is the way to go when using a VPS for production.
I'm a Debian user for 8 years. I have experience with many distros in the past. (Gentoo, Fedora, Red Hat, Mandriva, OpenSUSE, Slackware, Solaris (Unix), FreeBSD (Unix), NetBSD (Unix) ). So i can say that Debian comes first for me, it is for advanced users who like to customize their system, 2nd place is Gentoo that is for MORE advanced users, and in the 3rd place they are Fedora and Red Hat for them who want a safe distro customized and ready to sail without any fuzz.
