File Hosting for restricted sharing

I rarely have cause for sending someone a huge file like 85MB securely, but last night had to figure out a way and thought to share this link with you:

https://mega.nz/#info

One can get 50GB file hosting space for free. I know I can get plenty in different ways, but what I was looking for is a way for someone else to download materials from my account in a safe and secure way without having to log in anywhere.

With Mega.nz all one needs to do is right click over the file and then get a link with an encryption key. That works very well.

I also like it the name is so easy to remember.

I agree with you Genesis, mega.nz is pretty neat, secure and very useful for hosting files.

Zippyshare.com is very fast and allows up to 200MB/file

But mega allows you to store your uploaded files in an organized way, which means that you will always have ana ccess to them.

And they are encrypted. The latter part I'm really happy with.

But do remember this service is owned by Kim Dotcom the same guy currently struggling in courts for the notorious Megaupload which was shut about 2 years ago. No guarantee when Mega will go down. Dont upload personal info and or critical data.

Megaupload guys were allowed all pirated stuff without any restrictions. That's the reason for their rise as well as downfall. All other file uploading site learned the lesson and they now remove questionable files immediately, sometimes even without waiting for a DMCA notice.

I use mega.nz for big files too.

I'm still happy with the service though. Still works. I have Drop Box too and find Mega more secure than Drop Box, also faster. Everything is encrypted with Mega. Mega has 50GB FREE space compared with Drop Box's 10 GB. I find the user experience more logical and easier with Mega than Dropbox. Also faster. With Dropbox I've got to remember the steps to create a link and send it to the person who gets it. With Mega it's all right click stuff.

I'm not using Mega for storing my files though. More as a tool for transporting very large files. Like 500MB plus. I'm not that trusting of cloud or any online services for my personal documentation or files. Not that I have much of that, but I keep those off line if I can help it.
