I convinced my friend, John Lane, to purchase a domain from you guys last night (www.hellfiremusic.com) I was wondering what he had to do to get the free hosting that goes along with it. Also while it shows it is registered, it isn't showing any dns info at http://cachecheck.opendns.com/

If he has his account created through the client area link on the home page, then he should have the domain in his client panel under domains link. It is registered, for domain dns info you or him could look on the knowledge base: http://client.gigarocket.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displaycat&catid=1 , He don't have to get free hosting with us for the domain, he can obtain free hosting or 2.99 dollar hosting if interested in Gigarank.

He's planning on starting with the free plan for now. His band is just starting out. As the site/band grow he will possibly need to upgrade it.

Sorry for the late reply. And yes, thats why the domain don't work. He has to buy a hosting or either post 10 quality posts to get a free host, then domain from gigarank will be working, although he can also point the domain to different host if not using gigarank.

I pointed it to my gigarank account for the time being.. but he should be close to his 10. He is American Hilljack

no problem... just to clarify what is happening so everyone is on the same page.

John "American Hilljack" is the lead singer of a band called The Hellfire Club. I told him that I would help his band out with their website, since I am a freelance web guy and he does the voice over work for the AK Music Scene Calendar on my the Pennsylvania Rock Show pod cast ( www.akmusicscene.com & www.parockshow.com ) my sites are there to help support local/unsigned rock bands.

I found gigarank through a google search. I was looking to move rockforlifeconcert.com off of my personal webhosting. It's a site I do for a group of musicians that raises money for children suffering from life threatening illnesses. While I was here I thought, well here is a way for John to get his site online and running on the cheap. (local bands don't make much money)

Being a bit impatient I was answering a lot of John's posts and partially answering questions you guys had about John trying to get him to respond to get his 10 posts in quickly. I also have a daily job as a teacher so my time to work on free websites is limited and I was trying to help him get his hosting quickly on the weekend so that I could get it started

John and I go back about 13 years when I was taking photos at a Rock for Life Concert that he was playing. We grew up about 15-20 minutes from eachother, but I didn't actually meet him until he had already moved to Akron, OH.

John has been in a few big bands and traveled the world. He even made an article on Blabbermouth.net: http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/or...ndy-rhoads-brother-join-ohio-s-aleister-wild/

So basically I try to help local/unsigned bands get noticed and John is in one of the bands I've hooked my saddle to lol

So in a nut shell, I'm helping him get his site up and running. Then I'll teach him how to use wordpress and hopefully he'll be running the whole site by himself in a week or so.
