GoDaddy 99c .com domains

I haven't used my GoDaddy Account in a very long time because it has been much MUCH more expensive than Namecheap. But tonight discovered GoDaddy is trying to get back into the competition with having a special rate of .99c for .com domains. I bought a dot.com for .99c, and then because I like private registration, added 7 USD for that, which is special too, as GoDaddy's private registration used to be double that amount. So the total price for the domain including private registration came to just over 9 USD.

Here is the link I used to get the special deal. I got this link through http://www.domainsbot.com which is a domain for searching creatively for domain names:

https://www.godaddy.com/offers/default.aspx?isc=cjc99com&tmskey=1dom_03&cvosrc=affiliate.cj.7634042

I still don't like the GoDaddy Website though. Had to wait for the registration to take effect - maybe a few minutes, whereas at Namecheap I got used to it being immediate. I also had to search for where I could change the name servers. Still, it's a good price. So I now have a domain with GoDaddy for the first time in a very LONG while.

I am currently using GoDaddy. I did not know that .com domains are available for 99 cents.

My experience in getting domains created with GoDaddy has been optimal. I have not had to wait for domains, as they were available instantly. However, I am not happy with the user-interface. I feel like I have to do too much searching and clicking in order to get anything done.

Thanks for the update on the low cost of .com domains!!!!

Well, let's see what will happen on the succeeding year. 99c domain is only good for the new domains. I never experienced 99c domain on my renewal, though they sometimes give small discount on your renewals

Great point leetkrew. I fully expect that is going to happen. GoDaddy is famous for inflating prices in different ways. Like in my experience they load the purchase of making a domain name private. I had difficulty this time round too (hadn't used GoDaddy in a while) with waiting for the DNS to propagate. Was not as fast as it used to be. Think I'll stay with Namecheap for now.

I still have loads of domains at Godaddy. Problem is they don't offer those promo codes for renewals anymore. So keeping domains there is not economical anymore. If you are a Namecheap user than you can buy domain from Godaddy for cents and then transfer it to Namecheap when you have to renew.

I've known about $1 domains at Godaddy for awhile, they offer promo codes from time to time for $1 domains. It's one of the good things about Godaddy.

I used godaddy for my other domain, but having problems with the interface of their hosting. And it takes awhile for the site to be propagated if you changes dns settings.

I don't like Godaddy because it complicates everything, pay process , domain control , hosting control and it always send advertising emails like everyday , when I complained the support talked to me very nice and for long time but did not solve any of my problems with them
I also hate when domain price is 9.99 everywhere and coupons for discounts while GD offers nothing
+ it always double check credit cards which takes more time
I bought a couple of .com domains from iwantmydomain.com and changed nameservers in 5 seconds, and it wasn't even my credit card ;)

I'm using to register in the first year with coupon at godaddy, and the second year to transfer the domain at namecheap (around 9$ for transfer and renewal for one year). For me that's the convenient way.
They have even a coupon code for transfers from godaddy. Coupon code: BYEBYEGD

I also recently bought a domain at GoDaddy for 99 cents. I also purchased the web site creator. Everything cost me 13 dollars total. Unfortunately, I also found that searching for information was a complete hassle. I was also disappointed with the fact that you had to pay so much for tools/widgets that can be found all over the internet for free. So instead of keeping the web site creator from Go Daddy and purchasing their web hosting plan, I decided to switch here with my dollar domain.

Think you've just saved yourself from some major headaches. The last time when I purchased a domain at GoDaddy, I found I had to cough up for private registration. Also the documentation as you said is laborious.

I had a few domains from Go Daddy and they seem to spam your inbox with crap. I ended up moving the domains to Namecheap to get them away from Spam Daddy

nice! i would still rather choose namecheap as it is a bit less expensive and reliable, it servers better and gives more options (MY OPINION!)
