Is anyone here a fan of the Harry Potter movies?
I think they are great, with their action and plot.
My favorite is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

I hate Harry Potter andthe Goblet of Fire, because doesn't reflect the conflict that is present in the book

My favourite is Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince

I love all of the Harry Potter films. Admittedly, I have never read the books but I do enjoy the story line in the movies. I hated it when the last one came out, knowing there would not be another. Universal Studios in Florida has a two Harry Potter areas: Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley and you can take the Hogwarts Express between the two. I can wait to go see it one day....for my kids of course *wink* lol.

The movies were great ( of course the books were better :'D). I kinda agree about the goblet of fire though...I don't know I just think that the pacing wasn't that great, making it seem really slow while still cutting out of important things >_<

I really think the best movies were the Prisoner of Askaban, the Halfblood Prince, and the Deathly Hallows (part 2)

J. K. Rowling just released an online Harry Potter story in the Pottermore series. Did you know she also publishes under the pseduonym: Robert Galbraith?

I liked the movies, but not as much as the books. According to Mugglenet, it looks like J.K. Rowling finished the script for the first Fantastic Beasts film. Anyone plan to see it when it comes out?

I read the first 4 books then watched all the movies, I agree with @BetterHome, the fourth didn't contain the conflict in the book and for me personally the 3rd movie didn't do Black the justice his character and place in the book did. Other wise the other movies were good in my opinion.

LOVE the books and the movies. J.K. Rowling is simply phenomenal! She has created that world of wizards and magic all on her own, and it's all so well detailed, there isn't any book series better than that. The books are better than the movies for me, they always are, because as a movie they can't include everything. Though they included the most important parts. I have purchased so much stuff on harry potter. It's one of my favosite series ever!

Aside from the harry potter series, and JK Rowling being an awesome writer, I didn't like the other books she published after that.

Off: They are doing a short bbc series on "Casual Vacancy". I didn't like the book but maybe I will the series a go..

I read and enjoyed the books. However the movies were too much for me to bear. I voluntarily watched the first couple with low expectations, and I found them to be mildly entertaining. It was a nice to get back into J.K. Rowling's world and I was curious to see how it would be interpreted visually on film. However it felt really degrading and I did watch a couple more by accident or because of friends, and I do not plan to continue the rest unless I hear some amazing testimonials from someone I trust will have appreciated the books in the same way I did.

Hmm, I haven't tried reading the books she wrote after HP. Maybe I'll try watching the BBC series.

@"okapyh" As long as you've read the books, the movies are redundant IMO. After a while they gave up trying to make sense to people who haven't read the books, and became more like a highlight reel of scenes from the books. Not to mention the last few felt like they were just trying to be too "epic" and raise tension. I don't watch movies that often (books have the time to tell more fleshed out stories), so maybe I'm just not as used to them, but Harry Potter would have probably worked better as a TV series...

I thought the movies were okay but there are so many funny scenes that would have been funny to watch. So they didn't quite live up to the books.I read every book atleast twice. But I found Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to be the most exiting one. I've read that book twenty times because I wanted to solve the riddle before the last book came out.

Deathly hallows is my favorite one. I think many of us enjoyed the first part which was more true to the original book. I can say I enjoyed most moments of the second film, but I remember myself expecting a slightly extended dialogue between Voldemort and Harry, present in the original book. Shame they didn't film it and just made some action sequences. The beauty of the story is in philosophical side of it and the dialogues only indicate the action sequences are not that important.

@"ubflhd" If you don't like the movies, you might want to give the books a try. They're much better IMO.

I like both books and movies.

Do you know Harry Potter has a " US English transfer Verizon of books" . I am not a English native speaker , so I am not sure the differences detail.
