Hi-

Acct: CSense
Site: colonialsense.com

Weird problem started earlier today; many (most) pages load, but our home page (which is generated dynamically) hangs with a 500 error...checked the err log, found:

[Sun Aug 28 11:40:35.906904 2016] [autoindex:error] [pid 903325] [client 157.55.39.141:7041] AH01276: Cannot serve directory /home/csense/public_html/PHP/: No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html.var,index.htm,index.html,index.shtml,index.xhtml,index.wml,index.perl,index.pl,index.plx,index.ppl,index.cgi,index.jsp,index.js,index.jp,index.php4,index.php3,index.php,index.phtml,default.htm,default.html,home.htm,index.php5,Default.html,Default.htm,home.html) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

...was working fine last night; any assistance appreciated....

many thnx!

Update: cloned our html-receiver file as 'index.php'....didn't make a difference, home page still hangs...:-(

btw, I would be greatly assured if an admin would reply to this post with a simple 'we're aware of the problem and are working on it,' just so I know that you've seen it...

Thnx again,

You can try to restore your old backups or hire a coder to check your website as this is not a server problem. We haven't changed anything which can affect your account.

Many thnx for the speedy response. I can't imagine what I might have done to cause the error only on the home page...nor is that a real explanation for the error msg I posted above...unless something unrealted is triggering it?

I have plenty of backups so that's no prob. Let me step back a bit and see if I can clear the problem...will report my findings here shortly...

thnx again,

@Csense Your is site up and running now. I simply restored your old files from the backup of 23.08.2016 and the database from 28.08.2016 to minimise the data loss. As i have mentioned before, it was not related to a server issue, it looks like something has changed in your codes before.

Please take a look at your site and confirm if everything works fine.

Thanks.

You may need to rollback to your old backups then. As this is not a server problem i can't help you further.

php_mysql extension moduleextension=php_mysql.dll

and

from: http://www.somacon.com/p109.php

The mysql.so extension library does not come with the PHP or MySQL distributions. It must be installed separately by downloading the php-mysql RPM.
------

Everything I've read indicates that the 'mysql_connect() undefined' error comes not from the db itself, but from a misconfigured php.ini file....

Your site is up and running again. Restored your old files...

Your files are not compatible with PHP 5.3 but in your cPanel your PHP version was set to PHP 5.3. I changed it to PHP 5.4 and the problem is gone.

As i told you before, my job is here to fix server issues not working on people's websites. Please keep that in mind.
