Reset the password - they have a security wizard that will ask for your details. And if you can answer correctly, it will let you reset your password. THey also have an "I've been hacked" section under that area that you can fill out to request access back to your account.

That service sucks. I don't know what happened to them they used to be so reliable.. its a shame. I use a different email service now and I'm happy. I suggest you do the same.

Their service is still quite good and reliable, I have been using hotmail for over 12 years now.
You might request a password reset, you'll need to remember the answer of your secret question as well as the zipcode you entered at the time of registration.
For better security in future, attach your phone number to your email account, that way you'll recover it quickly if it ever gets hacked.

I feel hotmail has improved a lot. I like its Outlook look - neat and clean. Also, it has an improved security feature, where if one logged in from a different computer it will ask you for a code that it will have sent to your alternative e-mail. To make sure it's not someone else who is trying to access your account. Most of all I like it that one can use it as is with Skype, without having to set up a Skype account. All one has to do is download Skype software, and then use the hotmail account as is for messaging with Skype.

I got the account back after confirming who i was per fax. I got the account since 1997 or something.

I have quite a number of hotmail accounts. I prefer not to have all of my eggs in one basket. So I spread my correspondence for a variety of objectives around a number of accounts. Must say Hotmail has improved over the last year or so.

I've got a number of Hotmail accounts myself. I find the service has improved over the last year or so.
