Hello,
The first thing I do to solve a problem is to search google.
Segndo What is search the technical support forums because usually there is always a person who has been the same.
If doing these two things I can not resolve, then I do a backup and format the PC and problem solved!!

You're right AlexBen. That solution never fails. Also has many side benefits like improving the overall speed, cleaning out junk, etc. etc. When I did that a year ago, it was as though I had a new computer.

a support staff of mine is the first person that ask for anything windows based because she is a computer geek, then for anything linux its google using a 'dork' and the name of one of several linux forums am a reader of.
if are unfamiliar with what a google dork is,this is an example of the sort of thing am likely to search [or used to be, prior to getting this laptop]-
Code:
WINE not working inurl:linuxquestions.org
the 'dork' is a code that manipulates google into doing something,in this case it is 'inurl:' which makes google search specificaly only that site, the key words have to be put before inurl.

Never thought Google could be manipulated, always thought it was the other way round. :p

I learned how to fix a lot of tech problems without using Google but sometimes you just can't help relying on it.
That said, if you don't do any funny stuff you might not even need to fix your PC. It'll run for years without problems.

When I have any problem, then I try to fix on my own first, and then if that doesn't work, them im going for Google help, and it actualy fixes all my wonders and problems ;). Google is such an amazing thing.

I've been a "techie" for many years (yeah, I'm OLD!), but when I get stuck, google is my best friend. If only google could help me learn to say "no" when everybody and their dog ask me to "just take a quick look". Yeah, I'm also a softie. ;)

I like to figure them out myself, or I ask friends as well for really advanced problems.

This, + (when still not enough) ask on forums, + (if still not enough) Googling definetly works in the end :p

I'm quite good with solving most of the problems myself, but have a good circle of tech friends I can ask in case I don't know the answer. Sometimes I Google in between as well.
