You're not giving us much to discuss here. Why are you considering cloud hosting? :unknown:

On my current host, I'm experiencing some very bad loading times and I'm hoping that being an a cloud environment where multiple machines receive requests, it would speed up my sites. In all honestly, what I have online shouldn't be anywhere near as slow as it is currently which is why I'm already looking for hosting alternatives when my current hosting is good through June.

if you would like to see what I mean.. all the sites in my signature except for rockforlifeconcert.com (hosted here) are on my current hosting account

What I'm really looking for is if anyone has any pros and cons to switching to the cloud hosting environment from the shared hosting environment

It doesn't make difference if it is cloud or shared. If your website is not optimised, it will load slowly any way.

Ah but it is optimized ;)

Autoptimize - Optimizes your website, concatenating the CSS and JavaScript code, and compressing it.

Better WordPress Minify - Allows you to minify your CSS and JS files for faster page loading for visitors. This plugin uses the PHP library Minify and relies on WordPress's enqueueing system rather than the output buffer (will not break your website in most cases). This plugin is very customizable and easy to use.WP-Optimize, WP Smush.it

WP-Optimize - This plugin helps you to keep your database clean by removing post revisions and spams in a blaze. Additionally it allows you to run optimize command on your WordPress core tables (use with caution).

Wp Smush.it - Reduce image file sizes and improve performance using the Smush.it API within WordPress.

Wordfence Security - Anti-virus, Firewall and High Speed Cache

In this case rather than paying a lot money in cloud hosting, just simply invest in a cheap, but valuable vps or dedicated server.

If you can find a good reliable cloud hosting provider for the right price then surely go for it. But you can find competitive hosting plans that are very fast and reliable up time and customer service after all you pay for what you get. The more you pay usually the faster and more reliable the hosting is wither it is cloud hosting or not.

Cloud hosting is good if you are using amazon or Microsoft. But be aware of the costs. The can be quite tough high and amortization of a dedicated server can be short.
