Ink tank printers - printing cost and quality

Hi all,

Nowadays epson and canon printers are supporting ink tank systems to help bulk quantity of printing. Is it profitable?

with an additional cost of usd 40 - 50, many local service persons are attaching ink tank systems with these printers. They say it will give about 4000 - 5000 a4 color printouts with a refill that cost only 4-5 usd. anybody have an idea on this?

Laser Printer is still profitable because of its ultra low cost printing in bulk. Inkjet printers have very high maintenance cost.
