IRC - Dead or Alive?

Is been a long time since I typed irssi in to a Terminal. I know there are still a hardcore group of users, but do we have any IRC users here?

It seems to be a small group and many are older computer users. I am sixty nine and remember IRC as a hot thing. Because of that I occasionally log in to look around. I have also occasionally seen where a new idea pops up and an IRC is opened to discuss it, Channels such as Slack and Quitter have replaced good ol' IRC.

I remember using IRC To talk to people years ago. Good old days when everything was better on the internet, for the most part. I used to be a part of an irc channel, can't remember the name of it anymore though

You can set up a private IRC channel and use it. This way you are the only one having access to your data

Discord is the way forward nowadays. So much more advanced than IRC, although I do miss IRC, coding a bot was so much easier than Discord bots.

IRC was so good but everything comes to an end eventually, discord is this generations IRC.

What were those days.....I still remember was the owner and admin of few channels on IRC undernet server and it use to be big thing back in those days. I still remember those days when I launched my radio using shout cast server.
