Is SSL allowed?

I'm thinking of buying a security certificate from Comodo but before I do I want to know if it's allowed, or even how I'd go about setting it up! I really don't know alot about it but I feel it's necessary at this point in time, I'm getting DDoS threats left and right from my friends(they're a bit immature and they do it just because they can) and they've done things in the past to my sites on other hosts. I know Gigarank's protection against DDoS attacks are strong but I'd feel more secure with a secured connection!

SSL Connection wouldn't be enough. You would have to apply for SSL Connection Certificate.
And why SSL wouldn't be allowed? Of course it's allowed, so you can get better security.

That's what I meant, I'm buying a certificate on Comodo, or if I can't make up the money I'll just use CAcert for a while

We have a shared SSL connection for all our users which is backed with a SSL Cert.

Should you required your own SSL Cert you need to purchase your own. That would require a dedicated IP address, which sadly we cannot provide free of charge, should you require a dedicated IP address we can bind one to your account at a cost of $2.50 per month payable via Paypal.
