I wrote a blog article earlier this week for work about Google about to release an update to rank responsive websites higher in the search engine rankings ( http://buoyancy.co/impending-google-update-mobile-friendly/ )

It got me thinking how many websites on the internet are not mobile friendly (responsive) and I wonder how many of the Gigarank users have a responsive website.

Let`s have a poll.

I don't own a "smart" device. Probably high time I did. My closest is a portable laptop that is only occasionally used during traveling.

Could probably check the Web to see what Websites look like in "smart device" views. :p

Just read the blog article. Well written and nicely presented! :good:
Think I've found something!

Mine doesn't look too bad at all. Word Press WPEX-Tetris theme. It actually looks better on a mobile device than desktop (totally by fluke).

Nah, I prefer to make app for mobile device better than having responsive website design. My friend told me that I can make APi from my wordpress and using it on the application. If not, I would prefer to make another site which truly designed for mobile, like m.facebook.com or m.twitter.com, or m.yahoo.com etc.

Responsive websites are the most important thing to have. Mobile marketing is thing you should promote. Lots of the people are using smart phones to view websites via browser not an app.

Like the idea of upgrading that rank.

I'll check Firefox Ogah, but I like the one I discovered, as it is a tool for different smart devices by their name. Like iphone, Samsung, Nexus, etc etc. I don't have to puzzle what the sizes are. Maybe Mozilla can do it too?

Google Webmaster Tools says my website has the following mobile usability errors:
  • Small font size
  • Viewport not configured
  • Touch elements too close
I don't really care. If people choose not to use a real computer it's their loss. You can't play my games (which is what my website is about) on a mobile phone anyway.

I just can not imagine that anyone would put so much effort like we do when creating site and Internet presentations...and then make them mobile (responsive) "dead". Now days it is mandatory thing to do, at least for me. And it's really not some extra problem to make it responsive.

True. But I think most of the discussion has been about how to change the Website you created a number of years ago before mobile phones had taken off to be responsive. For new Websites responsiveness is dead easy. But for your older Websites, particularly the ones that were created in table format, responsiveness is not as easy to incorporate.

If you know of any possibility of how to make a non-responsive Website responsive, that would be great. I've got three of those Websites I'd like to change to responsive, as well as a Discussion Forum.

I normally try to use bootstrap on websites I'm working with in order to maintain a nice fit across all devices plus I find its easy to implement bootstrap content as it's basically already there

The problem is that google penalize website that are not responsive

All mine are, considering most dont search from desktops anymore, and a big increase in personal phones and tablets has made searching in real time now.
