Well, the opinions differ then.
I do not get into the stream of hype easily or follow other opinions when it comes to movies/music/anything. When it comes to movies/TV series I hardly ever like something enough to rate it more than 6/10, at least when it comes to the "big", commercial productions. When it comes to series, I do only like "Band of Brothers" enough to rate it like 8/10.
Well, when it comes to Interstellar, I really do like the movie. There's a lot of things I like about the movie, let's start with the music. Hans Zimmer did truly a good job, the OST isn't just a copy of the music from previous movie, like it is with the recent Batman movie soudtracks (do not misunderstand me; I do like most of the soutracks made by Zimmer, they just sometimes tend to not differ in consequent movies). The OST brings emotions similar to the ones I had during watching the movie, I do like it.
Secondly, that's the first movie in which McConaughey did not annoy me. I like the actors' performance, most of them did pretty well. What else; the story is full of events, less-imporant elements of the story are smoothly skipped and most importantly: it is great. Effects are made well too, you do not have the feeling that the movie was generated by a processor, most of the things created by graphics does feel like real.
My favourite element is the fact that it is more of science than fiction in the sci-fi equation. I do have some interest in the advanced, modern physics and although there are some elements obviously fictional (that cannot be scientifically proven; they cannot be scientifically denied too, tho), most of the concepts touched are possible (or theoretically possible). Unfortunately vast majority of audience is not able to understand the concept of time being 4th dimension and therefore, some more comples concepts probably make some people simply dislike the movie (as a picture too "fictional").
Anyways, I'd confidently rate the movie for 8 or even 9 out of 10. I have probably forgot to mention here some thoughts I have about the movie, but well, that's my general opinion on the film.
