You have made very good point actually, however I don't think that there are many websites that are worth of showcasing though.

It should be something the owners want to show. Good or bad. If bad they may not want to show them or may ask how to improve. If good they will motivate current users to do as well. Something to think about. It could be nothing more that a forum category "Link your Gigarocket web site" and only permit links to users using your service to be post links.
