Maybe a few Library Integration Scripts

I am the proud owner of a family library, and love using open source software for my library, for check-in and check-out. The only problem is web host our library system locally, and have trouble keeping up the maintenance on the computer itself. I used both of the following:

OPALS Integrated Library System - http://opalsinfo.net

Koha Integrated Library System - http://liblime.com/liblimekoha

I have used both, but love OPALS more. They are both open source and written in Perl, supported on MySQL. Very easy and simple to use.

What exactly do these do - I read the descriptiono and realize it has something to do with automation and libraries, but not sure that makes sense?

They are library automation systems. Public and private libraries can check in, checkout, and/or keep inventory with these systems. Very useful. Atleast, I think so.

I see (I almost thought library in the coding sense - a library of code to simplify creating a function like jquery).
