My first MyBB Theme

Well, obviously, MyBB software is something that I really started to love ... after a few months of using it. As being a developer anyway, I just couldn't resist not to try to create MyBB theme as well ...ha.

I have finished beta release of my first MyBB Theme "NetPen"... My own Forum is using it right now.
I would like to get some quality feedback before I submit it to MyBB website. For now it is not responsive yet ...

Alpha release will have a several color combinations.

It's refreshingly different to the WP styles we're used to. Like the way you contrasted the different colors. Just when I was already admiring the color choices I scroll down to the footer and more contrast.

This is definitely a master piece Misharnet, well done! :good:
OK, just for fun I gave the Forum a workout, and then realized I'd registered before.

Here are some more points so far:

1. When one registers the white boxes change to very dark when one progresses to a next box, and the color transition is cool, however one is unable to see what one typed in the boxes. The font color needs to be changed to a lighter or brighter color that can contrast with the dark background. Otherwise the font disappears in the new dark background.

2. What I really liked about your Forum is that one only needs to do a captcha ONCE. That's cool.

Clean site, well laid out, does not hurt the eyes.

I have the same comment as Genesis about the text boxes.

That is the kind of feedback I need right now. I fixed it now.

Well, Forum scripts are not so easy to design as "standard" websites ... there are too much different elements and too much data, info, text ... so right now any kind of constructive feedback is more than welcome, before I submit it to MyBB.

Well, did you check GoMobile version?

The only problem is that I can not get "Mobile View" link to work ... so users must change to GoMobile Theme when use any mobile device ...

Can't find the GoMobile theme. Perhaps you need to put a link for it where every one can see it, although wonder what Google will do. As Google looks at the URL.

Well you have an option to change Themes ... but I must place it somehow to be more visible ...

I really like the scroll bar on the page which is a nice orange colour instead of the typical white and grey one. The use of blue and grey together is great and adds a professional and smart look to the website.

Well, basically it is not that difficult, only it takes a lot of work, because there is a lot of templates that you need to adjust and of course first you must get your self familiar with almost all the templates and their purposes and functions.
Most of the works are still CSS related.
I haven't turned it completely to be tableless, because it'll take even much more work and because I believe that Forum scripts still needs tables ...
Most demanding part to me was UCP Section templates ...

Of course there is always some extra catch ...ha...

Think I can picture it Misharnet as this has always been a major constraint for me with myBB. Sniffing through the very many templates in the Admin Panel and figuring out just where to place the CSS changes.

Well done though :yessir:

Very nice theme, did you make this yourself or did you find it somewhere? I really like this theme you're using, I would like to use it for my forums, would you provided a link to it's download page for all of us to use or is it going to be a unreleased custom-made theme?

I would like to inform you that my MyBB NetPen Theme has new build/update.

Changes:

- Added three more Color Combinations.
- Added Theme version with Sliding Sidebar on index page.
- Improved responsive appearance.
- Improved Fotn styling (sizes etc)
- global.css splited in more CSS files, in order for better performance and to avoid global.css editing error.
