Mybb 1.8

so Mybb announced the release of the newest version last month and I was wondering what everyone thought of it. here's a demo http://www.mybbsecurity.net/

to me it honestly doesn't look like they changed a whole lot..like they changed the default theme which is nice I guess. Other than that it just seems to be small feature updates.

With that does anyone running a mybb forum think they're going to update? I really don't know if I'm going to just because it seems like it'd be more hassle than it's worth...though I might be wrong so we'll see.

Basically what I really want mybb to do is add more mobile compatibility. :p All we've got right now is tapatalk and forumrunner..which work but it'd be super nice if the forum software did that on it's own like invision.

I'm always apprehensive about updates as one never knows what in it may be incompatible with plugins and add ons.. But the security rule is one has to update.

Oh yeah definitely. Plus because this will have alterations with the appearance a lot of the themes will have to be changed...which is a pain. o-O

myBB is definitely better than phpBB, however am getting to the fun part of a phpBB Forum I've been working on., after beefing up on my knowledge. The steps are clumsy and full of stumbling blocks in comparison with myBB, but once one has got past the clumsiness and mastered all of the complexities, it's not too bad at all.
