You're joking, right? 250 USD per month! Even support ticket systems with similar mobile device support are cheaper! Cheapest plan is 100 USD. They won't even disclose their codes. It'll be hosted with them, not on your site. That's a big no no for corporates. They want everything hosted locally work no access to external third party or vendor.

Javascript is a client side programming language. You still require a server side interpreter. That's where PHP comes in.

JavaScript cannot communicate with database or cause any modifications to remote server. So JavaScript requests the server side PHP API to do those things and give it the data in json format.

It's the same concept as Google's recaptcha or Facebook's chat script. They are JavaScript front end while php does the actual work.

Hmm, I guess you're right. It's more close to Java then JavaScript. The simultaneous processing should speed up request processing time. Never thought the lousy JavaScript will rise to the level of server side program...

Things regarding what it can do and cannot still don't seem to clear. I've skimmed over the Wikipedia article and all I learned that it may have the ability to run without apache or such. That makes it closer to Java applets (which still requires java to be installed on your system).

I'm looking at https://community.nodebb.org/ and I like the way it looks, very easy in the eye.
There seems to be no template whatsoever so its best if included on a fully made website than a standalone.
I cannot wait to try nodebb for my node.js projects.
