I have this crystalview model: nb4-3/5788. 7 inch netbook.

This thing has a password, i can't remember the damn thing, and i was the one who set it. ugh. So I read about this thing for quite some time and what I'm reading is about the lack of support for it! The reset button on the bottom does not work as told, and the sites that all say the default factory reset for android tablets and netbooks require you to hold the volume down button and this thing does not have any volume buttons... I'm stumped. any ideas?

yup, sure have. this thing has no physical volume up and down keys on it at all. and there is a reset button on the bottom of the tablet, but i have tried it multiple ways...no luck. i've tried the tool adb (android debugging bridge) HERE.

i tried to use a sdcard to boot some tabled linux (can't remember the name), would not boot from sd, no matter what i tried.

i'm 1 second away from pulling it apart and shorting the power pins to the cmos chip, it's irritating me at this point.

good try though bro, thanks for the look!

Your welcome. Now you have the reason why to not buy things from china. They breaks and you cannot fix them.

In general I agree with you IG. One should be very careful. I'm VERY resistant to all of the dumping of real junk from China. But I've seen Huawei doing not too badly in the Middle East. I've also seen it successfully sold in South Africa. The Huawei Media Pad tablet at the link below was available on special at one of the hyper markets in South Africa, and I liked what I saw - I wish I purchased it - it was one of those opportunity of the moment things, a special for the day, and it went out the window regrets - it was really great value for the low price it was selling at. Huawei seems to be doing not too bad in the android phone market as well and I've seen Omantel - the national phone company of Oman marketing Huawei products to its customers as well.

I'd say this tablet would have been great as a beginner tablet for someone who is starting out. It has one of the simplest designs so the user would not even need to work through a User Guide. If the person finds that he/she doesn't like tablets, it is easy to live with the price that has been paid.
