Off late we've come across new members copying and pasting posts in the earlier part of a thread as their own posts - i.e. plagiarize forum posts. Like they will focus on longer threads with more than one page, then go to a good quality post on any of the earlier pages of the thread and paste it as their own "new" post in the same thread. That of course is a reason for an instant ban and "purge" of all of the posts.
But in the meanwhile it's of course put an extra burden on staff to identify duplicated posts. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a duplicate post check plugin. I know there are plugins that check headlines of threads, but not duplicated content of posts.
The last new member who tried this was really dumb. He copied and pasted one of my posts in the same thread. Darn cheek! Not the first time that has happened however. I was very impressed with three of his posts I'd read earlier, until one of the posts looked familiar (turned out to be my post), and then discovered that all of the nine posts he had made were duplicated content of posts that had been made by other contributors to the thread he had posted in.
