Points System

We have installed a points system, which will be used for free domain, competitions and promotions.

Receive points for:

New thread: 2 points

Reply to a thread: 1 point

Refer a new member: 1 point

Members can donate points to each other for services, such as helping others with advice, coding, promoting websites and a range of other services. You can donate points to members is you like what they posts on the forums. There`s room for a whole new marketplace to develop within the Gigarank community.

We hope you make use of the points system and enjoy it at the same time. Feel free to post any questions you may have below.

It's an interesting idea, but you might want to put more rules around it like you have to have been a member for x period of time, otherwise someone could just spam up their way through to the points.

I agree, those will follow soon enough, we have to write a draugh copy first and agree on them. I have some free time today to work on the website.

Well I've just noticed that if one can get 100 points one could double one's hosting space and bandwidth. Think that's a good reason for me to work on points. Just wish I had more time though. Apologies for not posting more often.

The space here is so generous, and my requirement not as much, I'm sure I'll be OK with the space and bandwidth for a very long time. Wish I had more time to post as well. Will try my best to post more often too.

I'll probably be needing some more space one day. When that happens I may opt for paid hosting. I notice there are plans to start paid hosting here, so may try it out when I'm ready.

It good to know that one can earn points for posting, I like knowing what I can do with them but you did not state what may not be done with them. I would like to know so that I am not doing things that is wrong. I do not want to find another place to be. I like this site.

I don't know how you could do things that are wrong with points. I suggest you Google the points and check through threads that have been made to see what you can do with points. One use that is particularly attractive is when you have 1000 points you can exchange it for double size and bandwidth for your hosting account.
