Whats your domain name? Normally I haven't seen any of the free sub domains being indexed by search engines.. So I am a bit curious..

freenom is the company which owns .tk domains and they have got the .ml .cf and they have also applied to ICAN for .free

Also got a .ga from freenom - I'm using it for my community garden site. Seems like a good fit.

Indeed it does. .ga has a nice ring to it too.

Hmm, I would always be careful and read the terms of service, as well as Googling for reviews on these before signing up. I've had a few which delete your domain if you don't get enough traffic, and won't let you use the same name. I've heard of others which reclaim a domain if the site gets too popular...

Thanks. Definitely will be useful for working on projects without registering a paid top level right from the start. Useful for us, free web hosting users and those that don't provide subdomain names ;P. Anyways, simply keep in mind that the 10$ a year is worth it for any serious projects.

There might be quite a few disadvantages and risks to using those
