still receiving the error. When I Iooked in the cpanel at memory usage it said my account was limited too, I dont know whether that means anything. The magento connect issue is definitely a server side issue too as I have ran magento on 2 servers previously which were configured by myself and a friend and the issue of not being able to remove extensions never came up. It maybe an issue with file permissions or file ownership

I've just cleared my cache to see if that made a difference unfortunately I'm still receiving the error I would have edited my other post to add this but for some reason you can't in this section of the site.

so you are saying the issue with magento connect is nothing to do with the server ? and to be honest I feel a little embarrassed the first thing I did was check for a maintenance flag I'm not that dense(honest) after I thought I had exhausted my limit knowledge on how to fix the eror Iposted here maybe I should double or even triple check next time.

btw altommo. dutchbarnheadshop.co.uk is not your primary domain. Your primary domain is dutchbarnheadshop.gi9.co.

Do you want us to change your primary domain to dutchbarnheadshop.co.uk?

What does taken* mean?

Anyway, to make the change to primary domain you need to unpark or remove it as add-on in your cPanel first.

lol .... I thought it was a new abbreviation for something.

Have you managed to unpark/unaddin your .co.uk domain? It needs to be disconnected from your cpanel before we can change the primary domain name to .co.uk.

I've removed it from my addon domains is that what you mean ? or do I need to do something else. Also how would I go about increasing my memery limit for PHP? and does the basic paid hosting package offer increased server resources?
