Detailed description of your problem, including steps to reproduce if necessary: Hi I just recently purchased the smallest paid hosting service by Gigarank. I have had my website on another host prior to this. 2freehosting to be precise. I have done my backups of databases and website content, how do i restore those files to my current hosting plan? I have not changed my nameservers yet because i do not want my site to be down just yet. Not until i get the files up on this hosting plan

URL to your website to specific problematic page: vectorized-ideas.com

I am really hoping someone could help me as soon as possible. Because i couldnt find the ticket system or something similar. And contact link isnt quite working for me :nea:

Thank You.

Hi Eva ..... so glad to see your Avatar again. I thought after your first post we wouldn't see you again.

The best person to help you is DJB (Chris/The Owner). He'll probably be able to do everything for you. So hope you can be patient a little while longer.

First, login to your cPanel and click "backup" (make sure you are using x skin)
Once in backup, click "download a home directory backup." This will backup all of your email accounts, files, and a few other things. It will not backup your MySQL databases.
If you have any MySQL databases, you will download them now.
If you have any Aliases/Filter Backups, download them.
Congratulations, you have backed up your entire site and its now time to restore it.
Login to your cPanel with us, click "backup"
Under "Restore a Home Backup," click "Browse" and find the home backup you have already downloaded and click on upload.
Do the same for your MySQL databases.
Do the same for your Aliases/Filters.
You are done with everything and your site has been restored. Now, repeat this process for any more sites you wish to backup.
Getting your database to work after restoring it
After you have restored your database, you will get an error when trying to view it's page.

@Genesis - Thanks! Hahahah yeah i remembered registering before but i was contemplating to continue with a free host or paid host lol. But im here now :p thanks again!

@DJB - Thanks a bunchhh! But i tried restoring, all my databases are messed up. I am guessing because the older host has a different control panel and a different way of backing things up. So im just gonna re do my wordpress and everything :mega_shock: See what i can salvage and restore~

You probably know how to do this already... but here's what I always do.

If it's only wordpress, a thing I usually do because I always mess up with the backup tool is using the import/export tool on your site's wp dashboard. It saves your pages and posts. Sometimes it doesn't save the images, but you can transfer the uploads folder to your computer via cpanel/ftp, then upload it to your new server. if the domain is the same no changes needed.

I have been thinking about this too lol. But i cant quite find the proper way to backup and then restore it. Do i have to reinstall wordpress on my own?

I have no idea how much do you have on your site, I've only done that with my personal blog because it didn't have much to restore.
I did this:

I installed wordpress, a clean installation on the new server;
Exported the data off wordpress with their tool on my older server + the uploads and themes folder via cpanel, downloaded that onto my laptop
and imported everything to the new server wordpress + the uploads and themes folder once again.
