Seeing you are switching to this fork. Will all my resources that have Mysql links, will they still work? I don't want to rewrite over 500 files. Its bad enough that I had to update it to work on php 5.6 and above.

Ok Thanks. I just had a quick glace at the wiki before I posted. It didn't really say to much and was a bit scared. But I just looked at my code quickly and say that I really need to do some house cleaning on it. So, if this change does cause me errors, it will motivate me into cleaning it up.

will it affect my site if maria db takes place instead of mysql?

because in my site i use mysql functions.

eg.
PHP:
$pl = mysql_fetch_array(mysql_query("SELECT COUNT(*) FROM mainpage WHERE rave>'0'"));

Same here, I used this as an opportunity to clean up my hosting accounts. Last night I spent some time to first do thorough backups of everything and then clean up my accounts. Didn't realize I had as many WordPress sites with databases. I also cleaned up some of my dot.tk domain names.

I'm good to go. :p

Everything is working perfectly as before. Only question is I don't see the name MariaDB in cPanel. It is still mySQL. Is that how it is supposed to be?

I've given both phpmyadmin and creating and importing databases a very big workout in cpanel, and everything is working OK. I imported an old mySQL database and WordPress figured out how to update it.

This was effortless. Thanks un4!

I can feel the queries loading faster, especially on my Wordpress sites.

Great Work..

Little update on this.

MySQL CPU usage is down to %1 with MariaDB update. It was around %10-15 before
