Shazam tells you what song it is

It happened to you that you heard a song that you like a lot and you don't know its name or who sings it? Well, this application (Shazam) helps you not spend hours searching Google or YouTube for proximity of lyrics or chorus. Simply when it is playing you press a button that activates the listening of the application and after a few seconds it tells you what song it is and it even remains available so you can listen to it whenever you want.

Would you say it may be possible to create an app like Shazam but for foods. Like scanning a barcode and finding similar tasting items to it or some people say subsitutes. It would be create for people with allergies.

It sounds possible, at least. "Similar-tasting food" is kind of subjective though, and a lot of foods list their allergens on the label, at least in the US. If you feel like trying to make one, I'd go ahead though! People with food allergies might find it useful to have a comprehensive food database site which caters to their needs
