There are not many short domains left.
But still it is pretty important to keep your domain as short as possible, as it will be easyer to remember for your visitors.

I'd say if I had the choice between short and easy to roll off the tongue or remember because it means something, I'll take the latter instead. Like .com, .net, .co, .info, .tk, etc. would be easier to remember than any of the new ones like cr7. I'll have to see a few of .cr7 first before I get to remember it. .com seems to be the one that clicks in first for me.

I disagree. I won't remember goo.gl, but I definitely remember godaddy.com. If the content is catchy, a longer domain will be easier to remember over a non-existent remote shorter one like goo.gl.

The domain that I plan to use is my entire business name, as I do not want to confuse those who plan to use my services and visit my website. Has anyone else shortened their business name in order to accommodate a website name?
