Are there any good free scripts to make a site like facebook with groups?
I have tried all the social network scripts that are available via Softaculous and they can't do what I want.

Have you considered using buddypress for wordpress? it was functional if a bit clunky a few years ago.

There are a few other options available which should run on this platform. It may take some extra work to get them running without softaculous but certainly not impossible.
