Spamassassin

This is an important announcement.

For those hosted members who do not know, Gigarank has SpamAssassin in cPanel. However SpamAssasin is disabled by default and has to be enabled in order to protect your e-mail accounts. Now the important thing to understand is that SpamAssassin is not only there for when you are using your e-mail account. But it should especially be enabled if your are NOT using your system e-mail account. If your WordPress/Joomla/Drupal Websites get infected via a backdoor vulnerability, then scripts have found a way of taking control of the system e-mail account and then using that account to make HUGE numbers of relay spam e-mails. If you have set up your SpamAssassin properly as indicated in the tutorial below, then that should at least provide you with some protection:

You can't imagine the surprise people get when they haven't been using any of their e-mail accounts and their hosting account gets suspended because of e-mail spam. Please enable your Spam Assassin when you see this announcement if it hasn't been enabled already. And PLEASE keep your scripts, themes and plugins up to date. Don't get plugins from sources that are not listed in the WordPress Plugin Library or provide you with pirated versions of plugins.
