Spot the station

Just tried this for the first time spotthestation.nasa.gov/ and it exceeded my expectations. In case there's anyone else who doesn't know about it and might be interested, you can enter your location and get emails when the space station is visible in your area. Today is the first day I managed to drag myself outside to take a look and was not disappointed. It was right where it was supposed to be and clearly visible to the naked eye. It's a good thing to do if you have any kids who might be interested in space, astronomy, etc.

Although not as cool as the time the shuttle passed over and l went inside about a minute later and saw it landing live on TV 1000 miles away!

What did you see? Just lights, like a star or what?

It was a single bright light, as bright as a bright star, but moving. It moved pretty fast and it was somehow easy to tell that it was much higher than an airplane. I don't have a telescope, but I'll try binoculars next time to see if I can make out any more detail.

I just googled "space station with telescope" and there were some pretty clear images.

I will maybe try this, I have a binoculars but I don't guess this will help.

Would be better if I have a telescope; but thank you for tip, really interesting.

P.S: I maybe saw this object, I though it was an airplane, but since you said it was moving faster than an airplane I guess it is was I saw.

Give the binoculars a try. Depending on how strong they are, they might well help.

Woah, I wonder if I can spot it...Street lights tend to block out a lot of the stars here.
