Does a SSL certificate help with SEO or not?
If yes, which SSL certificate?

I believe it does. But which one is the best?
Got Rapidssl on my main website now, not the one in my signature. That site has a simple domain validation certificate.

Google announced about a year ago, website's with site wide SSL cert will have a slight boost against non SSL. Only a slight boost through and I mean slight.

No, the ssl doesn't give you any advantage. It makes you a lot more problems migrating your website on https than actually the benefits are.
