Hi guys,

I've been updating my site and blog and suddenly I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error when accessing my blog and cpanel.

Can you please look into it?

I guess you've already done the simple stuff allready? Delete all your browser cookies and flush your DNS a couple or more times?

Have you checked whether you get the same with another browser?

Are you on WiFi? Did something change in it over the last day or so? Could be that too:

I found this comment very interesting:

Hey barry19115,

It's a bug. I don't know whether it's a firmware bug or server bug or a combination of both.......whereas a firmware bug causes a server error. It could even be a bug that corrupts the firmware such as MAC address bug.

If you search the forum you'll find hundreds of posts of people being locked out of their smart wifi router GUI (including mine). I don't recall having the 500 error much..........seems like I had the 504 Gateway Timeout error. Or when using an iphone, "connecting" would spin in an endless loop with no error. And sometimes it wouldn't give an error on a PC. It would just hang.

I had the same problem on Firefox and Chrome and iphone (safari).

If you do a search of the forum/board, you may have to search for "GUI lockout bug" or "waiting" or "hanging". There hasn't been a lot of people with the EA2700 reporting the bug......mainly EA6500, EA4500, EA3500, and E4200v2.

One thing you can try to reduce the number of instances of the bug is to use Google public DNS on the router. It's probably just a coincidence, but it seemed like it helped some.

Anyway, I no longer use the smart wifi firmware and went back to classic. Not just because of the bug, but also because they have not posted a new TOS (terms of service) for the cloud. Linksys is officially owned by Belkin now and they have not released any new terms. I'm not an attorney, but I would assume the old Cisco TOS are no longer valid.

I'm not saying that I don't trust them. But I guess I'm saying I probably don't trust them. :smileywink:

You have to be careful with what you read on this forum as Linksys pays people to deflect criticism of their products for obvious sales reasons. They change screennames from time to time but they are pretty easy to spot.

Good luck!
