I think both CentOS and Debian are good choices.

It is my understanding that CentOS is the community edition of Fedora RedHat. So CentOS should get great support and if you ever need pro support, switching to Fedora and getting SysAdmin support sounds like a plan.

Totally agreed with CentOS. It's been the choice of Gigarocket for many years. I followed the leader. I have tried Debian as you're correct - in all of the Forums I participate people are singing their praises, except it's not as user-friendly as CentOS for installation. It's just a tad complicated, but I think once one has mastered Debian, then it's a good OS.

I didn't know about the CentOS Fedora link up. That's interesting to know.
